Canon EOS Rebel XTs in PMA 2008

Update: It’s official. Canon names this the, Digital Rebel XSi. See the post: Canon unleashes the Rebel 450D

We’re hearing some chatter about the U.S.A version of the new Canon 450D - it is going to be called the Canon EOS-Rebel XTs. The model it is replacing is the Canon EOS Rebel XTi. It makes more sense to follow the naming standing of it’s professional counterparts, the EOS-1Ds and EOS-1D.

I’d vote for Canon to call it Canon EOS-Rebel XT Mark II - now wouldn’t that be really neat. It is easy for people guessing what the replacement model will be 18 months down the line (read Photokina 2009) - Mark III duh!

The specification and all the features remain identical, except for some geographic considerations like voltage and usage of wireless frequencies. Less than a week to go. Stay tuned…
