New Nikon 80-400mm in PMA 2011
The current Nikon 80-400mm is so long in the tooth and does not have AF-S. The Nikon diehards have longed for what seems like eons. Finally Nikon is going to fulfill the faithful with an updated version of this relatively affordable wildlife lens.
Sources say that the first versions of the lens may be available as early as CES 2011 (January 2011). After field tests and any fine tunings, the lens should hit the dealers for the 2011 holiday season. It will be most probably announced with the updated D700.
There are already 2 new patents filed for this lens:
Zoom Lens Design
Variable Magnification Design
