Nikon D60

PMA 2008 is just around the corner and we’re already starting to hear some rumblings from the Nikon camp. Nikon had a great 2007 with the announcement of Nikon D300 and the first Nikon full-frame, the Nikon D3. Both the cameras have created quite a stir in the market, especially on the heels of the auto-focus debacle of Canon’s 1D Mark III.

The rumor mill says that the Nikon D60 will be announced in PMA 2008. PMA returns to Las Vegas, NV and runs from January 31 through February 2, 2008.

The new camera is supposed to replace the fantastic Nikon D40x that was just announced in March 2007. Yikes! The Nikon D80 is the granddaddy in Nikon’s amateur league - no word of its replacement. But, hey with the latest gloves-off, bare-knuckle moves by Nikon, you may never know. We may see a Nikon D90 after all! Stay tuned…

  2. [...] The Nikon 16-85 VR should be sweetly priced at $300 and will be only available as a kit with the rumored Nikon D60. [...]

  3. [...] Almost all the key people have played their cards - Sony, Pentax, Canon, Samsung. Nikon is still sitting it out. The silence is deafening! We know 2 out the 4 in Nikon’s bag! The dSLR is of course the Nikon D60 to replace the Nikon D40 (or Nikon D40x). See our earlier post, Nikon D60. [...]
